Ok, I bought this thing thinking that either I wouldn’t produce as much ‘leakage’ as they say (avg is 1-4 ounces) or that it wouldn’t work properly. It’s bigger than I anticipated but well made. Not something you could wear around under your bra, but totally ok while nursing. I was shocked at how much milk I was wasting without this thing! I wish I had had it since my daughter was born, I could have really saved lots more milk. Personally, I ‘m able to collect about 1 ounce per feeding….but over the course of the day, that is 4 ounces that I would have thrown in the garbage, soaked up in a nursing pad. It’s kinda fun to see how much I have collected each time after a feeding….maybe I’m a dork….LOL. This will not work in sidelying of course, since the top is open. You also have to be careful not to forget and bend over while wearing or the milk will spill out (yes, I did it). This is common sense, not necessarily a design flaw. It seems expensive but it is made of thick, substantial plastic and comes with a hard case. If you leak at all and need to save as much milk as possible, don’t mind the effort involved in remembering to use and using your milkies, I don’t think you will be disappointed in this product! I am a converted skeptic! So much that I wrote my first review!

I received this milk saver just today, and haven’t had a chance to use it yet, as my baby is still “incubating”. I wish I had had one of these for my first two girls though, as I remember being so wet even with the nursing pads, and feeling frustrated when I would throw them away full of milk. Also when I would go to change my baby to my other breast to feed, the milk would already be gone into the pad, and they wouldn’t get anything. I am looking forward to saving every drop. As one reviewer stated your breast milk really is “liquid gold”. And if you’ve ever been up in the middle of the night with a screaming baby trying to defrost breast milk, you know what I mean. I can’t wait to use it and not have to worry about transferring my “sleeping infant” to the other breast to feed if she’s already full. I can just store that milk for later, and get both sides equally used. The only thing about this that I have to say so far is that it’s true that it seems rather large. I think they really designed it like that on purpose to fit all size breasts, and for engorged nipples and such. Even though I had read all the reviews about how big it was, I was still surprised at the size when I pulled it out of the box. Also it’s not as “flexible” with the silicone as I would have thought from looking at the photos. I have posted some pics for reference on the item description page with a measuring tape, so that you can see exactly how big it is with the case too. I plan on putting it in my bag for the hospital so that I can use it right away, and the case seemed a little large. I’m still going to “make it fit” anyway though. To me it’s totally worth the price and size, even though I haven’t had a chance to use it yet!

At one point I had low milk supply so I use to catch the milk from the nursing side with a regular bottle so the milk saver totally saved me a hand and made my life less frustrating. I also got to save up lots of milk! I reccommend this item to any breast feeding mother who needs to save milk to go back to work and school! Only problem is that it is REALLY big and very noticable! but otherwise amazing!

I used it for the first time today and saved 1 ounce from dripping while I nursed on the other breast! It is a little bulky. I think the design could have been smaller but it gets the job done.

This is a great product. It catches the milk from your unused breast that otherwise would have been wasted. For the breastfeeding mom who leaves her baby only occasionally, this product would easily collect enough milk without having to pump at all. For the breastfeeding mom who needs to pump in order to return to work, this supplements the pumping. Best of all, there is virtually no effort involved in collecting the milk – you just put the milk collector on the unused breast during nursing.
I consider myself to have a pretty normal milk supply, and by just using the product during normal home feedings, I’m getting a two ounce bottle every day. It’s great to have extra bottles on hand so that if I need to leave the baby with my husband or a sitter, I don’t have to worry about pumping every day.
This product will pay for itself within a few weeks of use, given all the milk that would have otherwise been wasted.
