I brought these shields and used it all of 2 times because of sore nipples. But I found hot compresses and the ointment work the best. I haven’t used them since and now I don’t need them.

After days of suffering through breastfeeding due to cracked nipples, I tried this shield. It was wonderful! I used it for 2 days and my nipple healed completely. I have a 2.5 month old and she had no problems latching on to this shield and getting milk. This truly saved me a lot of pain. It can be a little tricky keeping the shield in place but all-in-all, it was really a great help to me!

Great product to get baby to latch back on after refusing. And when you are so sore during the first couple weeks. However, I would say to definitely get fitted by a lactation consultant before purchasing, as I needed a size small and a regular sized one.

i read every book on breastfeeding before my son was born. i thought i had it figured out. what a huge shock when he was born and could not get him to latch on. not even for a tiny bit. the lactation consultant insisted i use a nipple shield. i kept refusing since every book i read says nipple shields were bad. in the end i broke down and used one and what a life saver! it’s the only way i would have been able to nurse my child. we tried weaning him from the shield for months but all it did was cause stress and anxiety. i finally gave up and decided to use it as long as i needed it. i have been almost nursing for a year with this shield. i never had any kind of supply issues (no supplementing). i am so thankful these shields exist. breastfeeding was very important to me and made it possible.

From the beginning, my baby would not nurse. I was determined to breastfeed (didn’t want to pay for formula and also wanted the bonding experience for both baby and me). I pumped and bottle-fed for the first 2 weeks. Then someone mentioned this product…I had never heard of it…I did some research and found that it helps with latching problems and sore nipples. My baby had no trouble latching on with the shields and now nurses without a problem without using the shields. I am so relieved that this product worked!
